The second chapter was a bit confusing to me, because there was all at once very much things! First is that Alex arrived in Australia and his father Tom is not there, he is in London. (very strange!)
Then he met the children of his father and Dani. A new experience!
And I think Dani is a nice girl, but I found curious that she invites him already now to join the band.
In my opinion, Alex is also a bit braggy, because he says that he can play the guitar better than the man at the concert.....
What I do not understood is why Alex said to Dani that his family name is Conell, but his name was however Reid.....?

I think your post is very good because he's not so long and not to short. Also you has said all important things and your feelings about that.
To your question: I think Alex wants to call Conell, so he tell that to Dani. He doesn't understand that he has to call Reid. His father calls Conell! That confusing!
